Hwacheon Machinery America’s Hi-M G1 vertical machining DCMT Insert center offers quick and precise performance, making it ideal for dry cutting graphite electrode material in die/mold work. Other applications of the VMC include high-precision graphite machining for automotive parts. The rigid structure, with a design based on 3D/FEM analysis and wide LM guides for the X, Y and Z axes ensures accuracy.
For high-speed operation, the 24,000-rpm spindle is integrated with a high-power motor. Vibration, noise and power loss are minimized during high-speed rotation because it has no parts that transfer power between the motor and spindle. In addition, a bearing grease lubrication system and synchronous temperature control decrease the influence of external temperature variation and improve smoothness.
The VMC has a dustproof and waterproof spindle and an advanced dust reduction system. The Cutting Tool Carbide Inserts sealed roof design collects the fine dust generated during machining. A dustproof air curtain system prevents dust inflow into each axis. The dust collector operates with 5 hp air volume. The door’s design eases cleaning.
The user-friendly Siemens-828D Controller provides flexible, interactive programming, as well as controls that enable high productivity.
Specifications include a spindle coolant system, an HSK–E40 spindle taper, a 29.52" × 23.62" table with an 881.84-lb load capacity and an automatic toolchanger with a 16-tool capacity.
